Carnival is a great gig!

The Lea & Holloway Carnival (27 June, 2009) was a great success with lots going on at The Jug & Glass, which was an essential 'refreshment' break from the entertainment at Lea Green. As you see from our picture above, there were activities on 'the park' including the breaking of a traditional Mexican piñata, a sweet-filled papier-machŽ donkey.

   In the evening popular rock and blues cover band Big Lix attracted an enthusiastic crowd when they performed out of a marque in The Jug car park on Saturday. It was so successful that Big Lix will be back later in the year.

   Another great event of the week-long carnival was the Barrel Race.
