The Jug and Glass Inn was built in 1782 by the family of Florence Nightingale, Lady of the Lamp.

The pub is a real gem hidden away in the Derwent Hills, a ramblers' paradise, brimming with character, continuity of fine food and great ale.

Jez and Sharon Hytch took over the popular pub in summer 2008 and have always warmly welcomed customers to experience the unforgettable ambience of the old traditional inn.

Changes are always afoot with fresh food ideas. An excellent chef and catering experts provide good quality pub food, using locally sourced ingredients where possible.

It is all designed to cater for a variety of tastes, meeting the eclectic needs of the Lea, Dethick and Holloway community and surrounding area.

The Jug also has first-class bed and breakfast facilities, with four double and one twin bedrooms all en suite, ideal for local families to use as an overspill when relatives and friends visit the beautiful Derbyshire countryside.

We constantly update this web site with news of events and photo specials. The Jug is getting quite a reputation for the place to be. So, bookmark us and return regularly.
